  • Eligibility to apply for your Chemical Users Licence through the NSW Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) which enables you to purchase, apply, and store chemicals unsupervised and charge for your services as a contractor

Entry recommendations

To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

  • The ability to supply your own work boots, long sleeve shirt and long pants

  • An interest in the agriculture, horticulture or pest control industry

  • Be fit at an intermediate level to manage the physical demands of the role

  • Have some experience in handling tools and equipment

  • A keen eye for detail

  • Language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) at Year 10 high school level

  • A mobile phone or similar device to take videos

Licensing

Under NSW Pesticides Regulation 2017, users of pesticides in NSW need to hold the AQF 3 chemical qualification to purchase and apply chemicals without supervision. You will also need to apply for Chemical Users Licence through the NSW Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) to charge for your services as a contractor.
