This course is currently scheduled on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday with day classes. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.
Assessments give you the opportunity to demonstrate what you have learnt and to identify the knowledge or skills that may need further development.
Depending on your campus location and the Aboriginal Country you’re on, in this course you will complete:
Knowledge assessments: short answer, extended response, research tasks, multiple-choice questions, assignments and group discussions
Skills assessments: projects, case studies and group projects
Practical skills assessments
Submission of a visual diary
Portfolio of artwork
Work placement provides you with opportunities to respond to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment. Work placement strengthens your training and supports continued learning and assessment in the workplace.
Work experience provides you with exposure to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment.
Mandatory work placement is not required in this course however, we strongly recommend you undertake work experience with a suitable industry employer.

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate IV in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Cultural Arts qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 15 Units of competency, including 6 core and 9 speciality units.
Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.
Learn in person, on a TAFE NSW campus. Depending on your course, your classroom could include purpose-built spaces like art studios, mechanical workshops, laboratories or bakeries. When you study on campus, you will receive a timetable of when you need to be on campus to attend.
TAFE NSW Lismore is located in the heart of the Northern Rivers region. It is known for its strong arts and cultural focus. The campus is also close to many beautiful national parks. After the 2022 floods, the campus began operating across two sites. Most courses are now held at the main campus (192 Keen Street, Lismore CBD). All creative courses are run from purpose-built facilities at Southern Cross University (Military Road, East Lismore). TAFE NSW Lismore serves around 30,000 people across the city and nearby areas. The campus supports a diverse and growing community. We remain committed to educating and empowering students. Our goal is to meet the changing needs of the local area. Customer Service is available at both sites from 8:30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.
