Entry requirements

This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol

  • Depending on delivery location and its facilities you may need access to a pet grooming facility to demonstrate your competency. Alternatively, you may be able to provide video evidence of skills and ability.

Entry recommendations

To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

  • Adequate fitness and mobility to be able to bend and lift large dogs and stand for long periods of time

  • The ability to use hazardous grooming equipment such as scissors, clippers and high power dryers

  • High level of communication skills to consult with clients for grooming assessment and to manage expectations

  • Language, Literacy & Numeracy at a level 3
