This course is currently scheduled for 3-4 days a week. An individual training plan will be provided when you enrol in this course. Your plan will outline the recommended study timetable and detail your units and assessments.
Assessments give you the opportunity to demonstrate what you have learnt and to identify the knowledge or skills that may need further development.
Knowledge assessments: short answer, extended response, research tasks, multiple-choice questions, assignments, closed-book exams
Skills assessments: projects, case studies
Practical skills assessments: demonstrations under observation
Simulated workplace projects: scenario-based problem solving

Work placement provides you with opportunities to respond to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment. Work placement strengthens your training and supports continued learning and assessment in the workplace.

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Information Technology qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 12 Units of competency, including 6 core and 6 speciality units.
Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.
Learn through a combination of classroom based, online and/or workplace activity. For example, you may participate in scheduled classroom activity, have an element of self-directed learning with online content, and/or receive supervised training while on the job, doing work experience, or on placement.
Classroom activity will be scheduled, but online learning can provide more flexibility. Teacher support will be provided for all study. Access to a computer with an internet connection is required.
One of the largest TAFE NSW locations in Sydney, TAFE NSW Meadowbank offers an extensive range of study areas including degrees in network security and finance. While it is home to one of only two Cisco Academy Training Centres in the Australasia Pacific region, TAFE NSW Meadowbank also features hair, beauty and massage clinics as well as a sports and fitness centre, all designed to give students access to real-world on-the-job training. Additionally, TAFE NSW and the NSW Department of Education are working together to create the Meadowbank Education Precinct, which will see students able to follow an educational pathway from kindergarten, right through to completing a bachelor degree or diploma at TAFE NSW.
