Entry recommendations

To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

  • Access to a commercial shearing shed to complete the on-the-job training

  • Literacy, reading and writing skills at a year 10 level

  • Knowledge of the wool industry

  • The ability to work away from home and in different environments

  • The ability to handle the physical demands of the job

  • The ability to work as part of a team

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Effective communication skills

Successful completion of the Certificate IV in Wool Classing allows you to apply for registration with the Australian Wool Exchange (AWEX) as a professional Australian Wool classer and hold an Australian Wool Classers Stencil.
