Overview
Would you like to boost your skills in the preparation and application of protective coatings to industrial metals? TAFE NSW's Certificate III in Surface Preparation and Coating Application will teach you to work with electroplating, powder coating and general surface finishing for a range of applications in heavy industry, ships and infrastructure. You will learn to abrasively blast surfaces clean to Australian Standard requirements, prepare surfaces for coating, and apply liquid protective and solid polymer surface coatings.

You can also choose from a number of specialist electives in surface preparation and coating application, as well as general industry electives such as the operation of fixed and moveable load shifting equipment, operational maintenance of machines and equipment, and the treatment of corrosion. Enjoy varied work in a manufacturing environment or as a contractor on the site of the plant, ship or infrastructure.
