The Graduate Certificate in Leadership is designed for people who have recently moved into leadership positions or who are planning to move into leadership roles.

Locations: TAFE NSW Liverpool and online

Duration: One semester full time or two semesters part time.

Course load: You must complete four subjects and achieve 40 credit points. The course requires the completion of three compulsory subjects and one elective.

  • Classes commence 13 February 2023
  • First round applications close 25 November 2022
  • Late applications will be accepted until 27 January 2023 subject to availability of places.

To be eligible for admission into the Graduate Certificate in Leadership you must hold:

  • a Bachelor degree; or
  • an Advanced Diploma, Diploma or higher level vocational qualification PLUS two years relevant work experience;
  • a minimum of two years relevant workplace experience PLUS evidence of the potential to undertake academic learning at post-graduate level.

There may be additional costs to purchase resources required for individual subjects. The course coordinator can advise you of any additional course fees.

If you have extensive and current leadership experience or you’ve recently completed studies in a related field, you may be eligible for exemption from some subjects in the Graduate Certificate in Leadership.

Talk to your course coordinator to see if you’re eligible. You are required to attend class until you are advised that your application for RPL has been successful.

Note: Your application for RPL will assess your prior learning against the outcomes of this course. RPL is only granted against full subjects. Partial RPL will not be granted.

Study pattern

Full-time students enrol in 4 subjects worth 40 credit points for one semester. Part-time students will typically enrol in 2 subjects worth 20 credit points, completing the course over two semesters. Each subject requires attendance at a weekly 3 hour face-to-face class. To maximise your success, you’ll need to study at home for at least the equivalent amount of hours

Assessment

A range of assessment methods are used across subjects in this course with most subjects requiring the completion of 3 to 4 assessment tasks, the assessments are designed to be practical and relevant to your workplace context.
