FULLY GOVERNMENT SUBSIDISED
This course is fully government-subsidised for eligible students, meaning you will not have to pay any course fees. It is part of a program to help people develop the skills they need to get a job, undertake entry level qualifications or transition to a new job.
If you are not eligible for subsidised training, you can still choose to enrol in the course but will need to pay the full (non-subsidised) fee.
Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Statement of Attainment in Defence Preparation Maths qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 6 units of competency, including 6 core and 0 speciality units.
Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.
Learn in person, on a TAFE NSW campus. Depending on your course, your classroom could include purpose-built spaces like art studios, mechanical workshops, laboratories or bakeries. When you study on campus, you will receive a timetable of when you need to be on campus to attend.
TAFE NSW Lismore is located in the heart of the Northern Rivers region. It is known for its strong arts and cultural focus. The campus is also close to many beautiful national parks. After the 2022 floods, the campus began operating across two sites. Most courses are now held at the main campus (192 Keen Street, Lismore CBD). All creative courses are run from purpose-built facilities at Southern Cross University (Military Road, East Lismore). TAFE NSW Lismore serves around 30,000 people across the city and nearby areas. The campus supports a diverse and growing community. We remain committed to educating and empowering students. Our goal is to meet the changing needs of the local area. Customer Service is available at both sites from 8:30am to 4pm, Monday to Friday.
