- Be employed in the school based education support industry as this course is delivered in the workplace
- Have a signed traineeship contract

COURSE SUCCESS REQUIREMENTS
During your study, you will need to meet specific requirements to complete your coursework.
You need to meet the following requirements to be able to undertake work placement. Your teacher will let you know when you need to provide evidence of:
- A National Police Check
- A Working with Children Check (WWCC)
- Vaccination and health screenings
- Any additional evidence your work placement provider requires
IS THIS COURSE RIGHT FOR YOU
To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:
- The ability to write at least one page of comprehensive information
- A reasonable level of fitness to undertake manual handling tasks, and perform CPR while kneeling on the floor
- Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) at a Year 10 high school level

This skills test helps us to understand your individual study needs, to design an individualised plan that supports your study success
and ensures your LLN skills match the demands of the course.

STUDY COMMITMENT
This is a self paced, online course. You must attend approximately 13 hours of class. You may also be required to complete approximately 4 hours of additional study. This additional study could include private study, work placements and research.
The course will run for 18 months.

SMART AND SKILLED FEES
This course is government-subsidised, meaning you pay a portion of the full course fee to TAFE NSW and the NSW Government will pay the balance. However, you must meet certain eligibility criteria for this to apply.
Depending on your previous qualifications and experience, your fee may be less than the maximum fee quoted. Your actual fee and eligibility for concession/exemption will be calculated and confirmed during the enrolment process. Payment plans are available through TAFE NSW for Smart and Skilled eligible qualifications.
