The Graduate Diploma of Financial Planning has been designed to meet the FASEA educational requirements for financial advisers in accordance with the requirements of the Corporations Amendment (Professional Standards of Advisers) Act 2017. The Graduate Diploma is specifically for people currently practising as financial planners who hold a degree or higher qualification, but which is not in a finance field, and for existing advisers who hold a Diploma or Advanced Diploma in a finance related field. People who hold a degree in an unrelated field and who wish to become financial advisers can also complete this course to meet FASEA education requirements.
Students must complete eight compulsory subjects covering behavioural finance, applied financial advice, commercial and corporations law and ethics and professional standards for financial advisers, taxation planning, retirement and estate planning, insurance and superannuation planning and investment planning.

This is a part time evening, face to face delivery course. You will need to attend approximately 6 hours of class, over 2 evenings a week, for 1 semester. As well as the in-class component, you will need to complete approximately 5 hours of other study per week.
This is a post graduate course and the entry requirements are either over 5 years experience in the financial services sector in a middle manager or above role OR an undergraduate degree in any discipline.
This post graduate degree has been designed in conjunction with industry experts and meets the new FASEA financial planning education qualifications. The course consists of 8 subjects and students can complete either 1 or more subjects each semester either at our Ultimo campus or fully supported online if you are an existing adviser you may be entitled to RPL and complete the qualification even faster.

Also, to ensure that we keep you safe while studying, we may modify our face to face classes to meet physical distancing requirements and increased cleaning on campus. If work placement and the demonstration of practical skills are requirements of your course, there may be a modification or delay in the planned timeframe due to COVID-19 impacts. Be assured, we'll keep you informed every step of the way.
This course is currently scheduled Monday and Tuesday evenings. This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.
The 2021 fees are calculated at $2,200 per 10 credit point subject. Students must successfully complete 8 subjects to obtain this qualification.
