    Work placement

    Work placement provides you with opportunities to respond to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment. Work placement strengthens your training and supports continued learning and assessment in the workplace.

    • To be enrolled in this course offering, you need to be able to meet the following work placement requirements:

      • Work placement is mandatory for completion of this course.
      • 80 hours of work placement (day and afternoon shifts) is arranged by TAFE NSW in a NSW Health facility or private health facility within the South region from Wollongong to Bega.
      • Students must meet the required work placement immunisation/vaccination policy including flu and Covid-19 vaccinations.
      • Travel and accommodation is at students own cost.

    To make sure this delivery option is the right fit for you, we will need you to demonstrate that you can meet the additional requirements below.

    • This is a blended combination delivery through online MS Teams theory sessions weekly and mandatory on campus clinical skills sessions. Theory classes are delivered via the MS Teams platform by a Teacher where students can access online and interact live from home or campus just like a real classroom. Please note this is not a face to face theory course. Technology to support blended delivery is required.

    Course deliveryCombination study

    Learn through a combination of classroom based, on campus classroom, virtual classroom, online and/or workplace activity. For example, you may participate in scheduled face-to-face or virtual classroom activities, have an element of self-directed learning with online content, and/or receive supervised training while on the job, doing work experience, or on placement.

    Classroom activity will be scheduled, but online learning can provide more flexibility. Teacher support will be provided for all study. Access to a computer with an internet connection is required.
