Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate IV in Civil Construction Design qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 12 units of competency, including 0 core and 12 speciality units.
Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.

Learn through a combination of classroom based, on campus classroom, virtual classroom, online and/or workplace activity. For example, you may participate in scheduled face-to-face or virtual classroom activities, have an element of self-directed learning with online content, and/or receive supervised training while on the job, doing work experience, or on placement.
Classroom activity will be scheduled, but online learning can provide more flexibility. Teacher support will be provided for all study. Access to a computer with an internet connection is required.
TAFE NSW National Environment Centre (NEC) is a truly unique training facility. It is located just outside Albury on a 180 hectare organically certified working farm. A specialist training centre in civil construction, natural resource management, spatial information (GIS), water operations, environmentally related studies and sustainable agriculture, the centre is used to provide theory and practical work for students.
