Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:
Develop your knowledge of identity for mentoring Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander People
Engage in role-plays to prepare to mentor Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander People
Provide mentoring to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander People through individual and group settings
Access support networks as a mentor of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander People
Support young people in their desired goals and individual needs, including education and employment
Research and promote Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cultural safety
Gain practical experience and develop specialist skills that give you an advantage in the job market.
A nationally accredited Statement of Attainment

A sound understanding of the cultural protocols of the local Aboriginal communities

To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:
Sufficient maturity, and work or life experience to enable you to mentor Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander People
Undertaken cultural awareness training, such as having completed the Course in Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander Cultural Education (course code 11044NAT), before enrolling, if you are a non-Aboriginal learner
