    Entry requirements

This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol.

You must demonstrate that you have achieved one of the following:

      • A NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC) or its equivalent
      • A Certificate IV in Tertiary Preparation or its equivalent
      • A completed certificate IV or higher vocational qualification

    Advanced Standing:

    • At TAFE NSW, we recognise the value of your previous study and work experience. You can apply for recognition of prior learning or credit transfer for any of our courses. If successful, you'll achieve your qualification faster.

    • Certificate IV in Interior Decoration: Students who have completed a nationally recognised Certificate IV in Interior Decoration will receive credit for four subjects, covering the entire first semester of the degree. This allows you to complete the Bachelor of Interior Design in just two and a half years (full-time).

    • Diploma of Interior Design: Students with a nationally recognised Diploma of Interior Design will receive credit for nine subjects, encompassing the entire first year of the degree plus one subject in second year. This reduces the time needed to complete the Bachelor of Interior Design to two years (full-time).

    • Diploma of Building Design: Students who hold a nationally recognised Diploma of Building Design will receive credit for five subjects distributed across the first, second, and third years. As a result, you can complete the Bachelor of Interior Design in three years with a reduced study load.

    • Take advantage of your previous experience and accelerate your path to a new qualification at TAFE NSW.

    Note:

    • Your certificates, transcripts and other entry requirement evidence must be certified through a Justice of the Peace or other authorising officer
