Assessments
Assessments give you the opportunity to demonstrate what you have learnt and to identify the knowledge or skills that may need further development.
Knowledge assessments: quizzes and research tasks
Practical skills assessments: creating 3D animations and following design projects
Portfolio of work including including decoration proposals from concept to completion
Work placement
Work placement provides you with opportunities to respond to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment. Work placement strengthens your training and supports continued learning and assessment in the workplace.
Work placement opportunities, if any, will be confirmed with your teacher.
Materials needed
To complete this course, the following materials are required:
Design kit materials at an estimated cost of $50-$200.
Purchase of Sketchup Pro education subscription is optional but recommended at an estimated cost of $90 per year.

Access to a computer (either PC or Mac) outside of TAFE is a requirement.
Students may be required to undertake an LLN screening to help determine any support requirements.
UnitsUnits taught in this course
Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate IV in Interior Decoration qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 17 units of competency, including 7 core and 10 speciality units.

Course deliveryStudying on Campus
Learn in person, on a TAFE NSW campus. Depending on your course, your classroom could include purpose-built spaces like art studios, mechanical workshops, laboratories or bakeries. When you study on campus, you will receive a timetable of when you need to be on campus to attend.
