Assessments let you show what you've learned and check what you may need to work on.
Knowledge assessments: short answer, multiple-choice and true or false questions.
Practical skills assessments: demonstrations under observation, projects.
Work placement gives you real experience and develops your skills.
There is no work placement requirement for this qualification. As an apprentice, you will gain your experience with your employer.
If you are enrolling as a non-apprentice, you need to be in relevant employment or have access to appropriate simulated workplace environments to meet the course completion requirements.
To complete this course, the following materials are required:

To take this course as an apprenticeship you need to be employed as an apprentice in the industry as evidenced by a letter of support from your employer and submit your Training Plan Proposal (TPP) with your application.
Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Painting and Decorating qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 29 units of competency, including 26 core and 3 speciality units.
Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.
Learn in person, on a TAFE NSW campus. Depending on your course, your classroom could include purpose-built spaces like art studios, mechanical workshops, laboratories or bakeries. When you study on campus, you will receive a timetable of when you need to be on campus to attend.
