To be enrolled in this course, you need to be able to provide evidence that you are:
- an apprentice (you will work in industry and study at the same time)
- employed full time
- signed up with an Apprentice Network Provider and have a Training Plan Proposal
- seeking to gain skills and knowledge to become a qualified Plumber after successful completion
Units
Units taught in this course
Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Plumbing (General Plumber) qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 58 units of competency, including 43 core and 15 speciality units.
Core units - 43
Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.

Studying on Campus
Learn in person, on a TAFE NSW campus. Depending on your course, your classroom could include purpose-built spaces like art studios, mechanical workshops, laboratories or bakeries. When you study on campus, you will receive a timetable of when you need to be on campus to attend.
