Assessments let you show what you've learned and check what you may need to work on.
Knowledge assessments: short answer, multiple-choice questions, extended response.
Practical skills assessments: demonstrations under observation.
Work placement gives you real experience and develops your skills.
There is no work placement requirement for apprentices taking this qualification, as you will gain your experience on-the-job with your employer.
Non-apprentices will need to be in either relevant employment or have access to appropriate simulated workplace environments to complete the learning and assessment requirements.
To complete this course, the following materials are required:
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) including Safety Steel Capped Boots, Hearing Protection, Safety Glasses and Dust Mask (P2 minimum) at an estimated cost of $250
Stationery and ring binder folder at an estimated cost of $10

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Stonemasonry (Monumental stonemasonry) qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 30 units of competency, including 21 core and 9 speciality units.
Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.
Learn in person, on a TAFE NSW campus. Depending on your course, your classroom could include purpose-built spaces like art studios, mechanical workshops, laboratories or bakeries. When you study on campus, you will receive a timetable of when you need to be on campus to attend.
TAFE NSW Miller is a quiet and relaxed campus located on Hoxton Park Road, just off the M7 in Sydney’s south west.
With facilities designed to simulate real-world situations and working environments, TAFE NSW Miller provides students with the opportunity to apply their skills in a practical way. Like the Building and Construction Faculty, which features beautiful timber panelling, stained glass windows and painted ceiling rosettes that have all been skilfully restored by talented TAFE NSW students.
