Overview About this course

This course provides you with an update on changes to the Work Health and Safety Act 2011. Carry out the role of a health and safety representative (HSR) with skills to participate in consultation and issues resolution.

Learning outcomes

Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:

  • Continue to represent a work group in health and safety matters by carrying out the role and function of a health and safety representative (HSR)

  • Implement and act on health and safety measures such as identifying potential hazards in line with work health and safety (WHS) legislation

  • Identify key parties, legislative obligations and duties

  • Participate constructively in consultation and issues resolution

Entry requirements

This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol

  • Successful completion of the TAFE Statement in Health and Safety Representative (HSR), or equivalent course, as evidenced by a copy of your transcript

  • 2 years workplace experience to be favourably considered for a health and safety representative (HSR)
