Knowledge tasks: online quizzes, multiple-choice questions, matching and true or false tasks.
Project assessments: research tasks, short answer questions, scenarios and personal reflections.
Workplace portfolio: practical skills demonstrations and reflective practice journals, observing and planning for children’s learning, workplace health and safety tasks.
Training logbook: 160 workplace hours log, workplace supervisor reports.

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 17 units of competency, including 15 core and 2 speciality units.
Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.
Learn through a combination of on-campus classroom, virtual classroom, online, and/or workplace activity. For example, you may participate in scheduled face-to-face or virtual classroom activity, have an element of self-directed learning with online content, and/or receive supervised training while on the job, doing work experience, or on placement.
Classroom activity will be scheduled, but online learning can provide more flexibility. Teacher support will be provided for all study. Access to a computer with an internet connection is required.
The Mudgee campus delivers a broad range of certificate level general education and trade programs in aged care, children's services, disability work, community services, hospitality, construction, English for Speakers of other Languages (ESOL), numeracy and literacy.
