    Learning outcomes

    Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:

    • apply digital design and manufacturing software in varied scenarios

    • evaluate risks, benefits and efficiencies of manufacturing technologies

    • interpret and communicate technical ideas to multidisciplinary teams

    • solve problems and optimise operations using models and data

    • implement quality control concepts across manufacturing processes

    • integrate automation, networking and control safely and effectively.

    • Graduate with an Associate Degree (AQF 6).

    • The skills and knowledge to apply CAD/CAM, automation and Industry 4.0.

    • The confidence to optimise processes using data and diagnostics.

    • Experience in workplace-aligned and project-based learning.

    • Eligibility to apply for advanced standing into bachelor-level programs (institution-specific).

    Entry requirements

    This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol.

    You must demonstrate that you have achieved one of the following:

    • a NSW Higher School Certificate (HSC) or equivalent

    • a Certificate IV in Tertiary Preparation or equivalent

    • a completed Certificate IV or higher vocational qualification

    • at least one year of full-time study, or equivalent, in a degree course at a higher education institution.

    You must also:

    • be a registered apprentice in a relevant Certificate III qualification (e.g. MEM30219)

    • attend a pre-admission interview.

    Note:

    • Your certificates, transcripts and other evidence of entry requirements must be certified by a Justice of the Peace or other authorised officer.

    Entry recommendations

    To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

    • recent study or experience in engineering, manufacturing or related fields

    • comfort with maths, spreadsheets and technical problem-solving

    • access to a laptop and internet for blended learning

    • an interest in automation, robotics and digital systems

    • willingness to follow site-safe practices and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)

    • time management skills to balance projects, labs and assessments.

    You do not require an ATAR score for entry into this course.

    If you are unable to meet the entry requirements, you may be eligible for special admission.
