    Course Schedule: Virtual delivery - Tuesday's (8.45am to 11.45am, commencing week 2). Face-to-face delivery – Wednesday’s and Thursday’s (8.30am to 5pm). This timetable may change and will be confirmed by your teacher.

    Work placement

    Work placement provides you with opportunities to respond to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment. Work placement strengthens your training and supports continued learning and assessment in the workplace.

    WORK EXPERIENCE

    • Work experience provides you with exposure to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment.

    • Mandatory work placement is not required in this course however, we strongly recommend you undertake work experience with a suitable industry employer.

    To complete this course, the following materials are required:

    • Beauty kit and uniform tunic – estimated cost of up to $400. Beauty kit to be purchased by learner externally

    • As part of this course, you will be required to provide beauty services on paying clients and may also need to provide clients for some of your practical classes and assessments. You must comply with Work Health & Safety requirements for classes, including wearing closed in protective footwear and clothing that is clean and professional for the industry. You will require computer skills and be able to work on your laptop, iPad or smartphone that can connect to the internet. You may be asked to bring your device to class

    Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Beauty Services qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 18 Units of competency, including 14 core and 4 speciality units.

    Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.

    Course deliveryCombination study

    Learn through a combination of on-campus classroom, virtual classroom, online, and/or workplace activity. For example, you may participate in scheduled face-to-face or virtual classroom activity, have an element of self-directed learning with online content, and/or receive supervised training while on the job, doing work experience, or on placement.

    Classroom activity will be scheduled, but online learning can provide more flexibility. Teacher support will be provided for all study. Access to a computer with an internet connection is required.
