Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:
Take and record essential health markers such as temperature, pulse rate, respiratory rate, blood pressure and blood glucose
Record intake and output on fluid balance chart and/or food chart
Measure and recording weight
Understand human body functions and medical terminology
Gain practical experience and develop specialist skills that give you an advantage in the job market.

During your study you’ll need to provide your teacher with the following evidence:
A National Police Check
A signed copy of NSW Health code of conduct form and any other forms as required
Successful competition of an occupational assessment, screening and vaccination against infectious diseases
Your health care worker/student vaccination record card
To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:
Adequate fitness levels and mobility to deliver First Aid and perform 2 minutes of uninterrupted CPR while kneeling on the floor
