Assessments give you the opportunity to demonstrate what you have learnt and to identify the knowledge or skills that may need further development.

Case study assessments: scenario-based written tasks
Workplace project: research task related to client care
Work placement provides you with opportunities to respond to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment. Work placement strengthens your training and supports continued learning and assessment in the workplace.
You will undertake a mandatory 120 hours of work placement with a suitable industry employer. TAFE NSW will arrange your work placement with a suitable industry employer.

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 15 units of competency, including 9 core and 6 speciality units.
Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.
Learn in person, on a TAFE NSW campus. Depending on your course, your classroom could include purpose-built spaces like art studios, mechanical workshops, laboratories or bakeries. When you study on campus, you will receive a timetable of when you need to be on campus to attend.
