Work placement provides you with opportunities to respond to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment. Work placement strengthens your training and supports continued learning and assessment in the workplace.

The procurement of work placement & other work placement resources and information, remains the responsibility of the student. However, you may also have an option to attend three days practical workshop, in order to cover the clinical requirements of the course units. Please contact the Teaching Section for more information on Tafe Digital workshops.
Work placement and the demonstration of practical skills are requirements of this course. Due to the impacts of COVID 19 and the disruption to service provision in the Early Childhood, Aged Care, Health and Community Services Sectors, there may be a delay or modification in being able to undertake these aspects of your course in the planned timeframe.
Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate IV in Medical Practice Assisting qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 23 Units of competency, including 19 core and 4 speciality units.
Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.
Choose when and where you study. Set your own pace, with all your study materials online, allowing you to manage your own workload. Access your learning management system 24 hours a day, seven days a week. This is a highly collaborative space that involves more than simply reading and consuming.
You will interact creatively with content, teachers and your peers, improving your overall engagement with the course. Teaching staff are available to provide you with support, enabling you meet your course outcomes.
You may need to attend a vocational placement, on campus assessment and/or a teacher might need to observe and assess you in a real or simulated environment. Online courses require access to a computer with an internet connection.
