    Assessments

    Assessments give you the opportunity to demonstrate what you have learnt and to identify the knowledge or skills that may need further development.

    • Knowledge assessments: multiple-choice questions

    • Practical skills assessments: demonstrations under observation such as basic life support, first aid incident response and report and manage illness and injuries

    Work placement

    Work placement provides you with opportunities to respond to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment. Work placement strengthens your training and supports continued learning and assessment in the workplace.

    • To be enrolled in this course offering, you need to be able to:

      • perform at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer CPR (5 cycles) on an adult manikin placed on the floor
      • assess the area for danger, and visually and verbally assessment of the casualty and be able to assess the environment following DRSABCD in line with ARC guidelines.

      On enrolment an email will be sent with a link to the Moodle detailing pre course requirements.

    Course deliveryCombination study

    Learn through a combination of on-campus classroom, virtual classroom, online, and/or workplace activity. For example, you may participate in scheduled face-to-face or virtual classroom activity, have an element of self-directed learning with online content, and/or receive supervised training while on the job, doing work experience, or on placement.

    Classroom activity will be scheduled, but online learning can provide more flexibility. Teacher support will be provided for all study. Access to a computer with an internet connection is required.

    Ourimbah

    TAFE NSW Ourimbah is a joint TAFE NSW and University of Newcastle facility, located on the Central Coast close to transport and stunning beaches.
