    Assessments

    Assessments give you the opportunity to demonstrate what you have learnt and to identify the knowledge or skills that may need further development.

    • Knowledge assessments: short answer, extended response, research tasks, multiple choice questions.

    • Skills assessments: projects, case studies.

    • Practical skills assessments: demonstrations under observation.

    • Simulated workplace projects: scenario-based problem solving.

    Work placement

    Work placement provides you with opportunities to respond to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment. Work placement strengthens your training and supports continued learning and assessment in the workplace.

    • To be enrolled in this course offering, you need to be able to meet the following work placement requirements:
      The student is required to complete a minimum of 42 hours of Work Placementmandatory Saturday.
      Workshops for the development of practical skills and completion of practical assessment tasks. The Saturday Workshops are conducted face-to-face at Tamworth TAFE Campus on the following dates: 26/2/2022, 19/3/3022, 2/4/2022, 30/4/2022, 21/5/2022, 4/6/2022, 18/6/2022, and 25/6/2022. Saturday Workshops are from 9:30am - 3:30pm.
      The student will need access to computer and internet to be able to participate in online lessons over TEAMS.

    Materials needed

    To complete this course, the following materials are required:

    • You will need to provide for yourself the following resources which you will keep when you complete your study - The student will be required to purchase a TAFE T-Shirt for Work Placement (approximate cost $25)

      • The student is responsible for supplying their own stationery for study
      • The student may decide to purchase the recommended Textbook (Approximate cost $100, however this is optional.

    Units taught in this course

    Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Pathology Collection qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 14 Units of competency, including 9 core and 5 speciality units.

    Course delivery

    Combination study

    Learn through a combination of on-campus classroom, virtual classroom, online, and/or workplace activity. For example, you may participate in scheduled face-to-face or virtual classroom activity, have an element of self-directed learning with online content, and/or receive supervised training while on the job, doing work experience, or on placement.

    Classroom activity will be scheduled, but online learning can provide more flexibility. Teacher support will be provided for all study. Access to a computer with an internet connection is required.
