Assessments let you show what you've learned and check what you may need to work on.
Knowledge assessments: short answer, extended response, research tasks and multiple choice questions.
Skills assessments: projects and case studies.
Practical skills assessments: demonstrations under observation.
Simulated workplace projects: scenario-based problem solving.
Work placement gives you real experience and develops your skills.
During your course you will undertake a mandatory 35 hours of work placement with a suitable industry employer.
Depending on your mode of study, TAFE NSW will either arrange your work placement for you or support you to find one.

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Pathology Collection qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 14 units of competency, including 9 core and 5 speciality units.
Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.
Learn in person, on a TAFE NSW campus. Depending on your course, your classroom could include purpose-built spaces like art studios, mechanical workshops, laboratories or bakeries. When you study on campus, you will receive a timetable of when you need to be on campus to attend.
