    To make sure this delivery option is the right fit for you, we will need you to demonstrate that you can meet the additional requirements below.

    • To successfully complete this course:

      • Students will be particpating in overnight trips during their studies with limited assistance, and should be comfortable with being away from home and camping in remote locations.
      • Students must be able to carry their own pack, and be prepared for strenous activities working in small teams.
      • Students will need to be highly organised and well prepared.
      • First Aid is an elective unit in the course, and you must be able to complete 2 minutes of continous cardiopulmonary resuscitation on a manikin placed on the floor. You must be able to assess for danger and verbally and visually assess a casualty

    Units taught in this course

    Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Outdoor Leadership qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 22 units of competency, including 9 core and 13 speciality units.

    Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.

    Course delivery

    Combination study

    Learn through a combination of on-campus classroom, virtual classroom, online, and/or workplace activity. For example, you may participate in scheduled face-to-face or virtual classroom activity, have an element of self-directed learning with online content, and/or receive supervised training while on the job, doing work experience, or on placement.

    Classroom activity will be scheduled, but online learning can provide more flexibility. Teacher support will be provided for all study. Access to a computer with an internet connection is required.
