Assessments give you the opportunity to demonstrate what you have learned so far and identify what knowledge or skills need further development. In this course you will undertake:

  • Theory knowledge assessments
  • Practical skills assessments

Certificate III in Hairdressing is a trade qualification, which you will need in order to work in the industry. The Certificate III in Hairdressing is also an entry requirement for the Certificate IV in Hairdressing.

The Certificate IV focuses on specialised areas including wigs, extensions, advanced cutting and more.

Depending on your area, there may be opportunity to work at charity and voluntary events.

You will participate in a range of structured workshop activities that allow you to practice your skills before attempting assessments.

In a simulated or real workplace, you will gain experience in work situations that enhance your learning journey and contribute to your assessments.

You will complete most of your course work in a simulated working environment with paying customers. Plus, you will also have access to a computer to complete online components of the course.

This course helps to address a skills shortage in the industry and prepare for its forecasted growth over three years to 2022.

This qualification has been designed with industry to complement forecast growth in the personal care industry.

This course prepares you for success in putting your technical skills to work like cutting, colouring, design and chemical work - as well as enhancing your interpersonal skills through client consultation, customer service and using discretion and judgment.
