Nominate now for an Anthony Carter Memorial Scholarship

Everyone should have the chance to discover their talents and reach their full potential through a TAFE NSW scholarship. Recognition and rewards, such as scholarships, can serve as significant motivators for students. Teachers play a crucial role in acknowledging and incentivising the efforts of hardworking students. Nominate a deserving student for the Anthony Carter Memorial Scholarship if they’re are interested in pursuing further education and a career in auto repair.

The scholarship was created in 2006 by Ted and Christine Carter to honour their son, Anthony Carter, who was a student at Hunter TAFE NSW and an employee at Klosters. This year, a student from TAFE NSW in the Hunter Region or Central Coast will be awarded a scholarship valued at $1,000 which includes an essential $500 tool voucher.

To be nominated for an Anthony Carter Memorial Scholarship, they must:

• Be 25 years old or under.
• Be enrolled at TAFE NSW in the Hunter or Central Coast regions as a second-year student studying one of the following courses: Certificate III in Automotive Electrical Technology (AUR30320), Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology (AUR30620), Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology (AUR32420) or Certificate III in Automotive Body Repair Technology (AUR32120).
• Reside or study within the Hunter or Central Coast regions.
• Demonstrate commitment to their study and career goals. You can do this by listing achievements or identifying your skills and strengths.
• Be a good student and represent TAFE NSW and the Hunter TAFE Foundation well. You can demonstrate this by sharing positive grades and attendance records.
• Not have received a scholarship from the Hunter TAFE Foundation for one year before applying for the scholarship.

Nominators must provide evidence of the nominated student’s commitment to their study and career goals in the auto repair industry. They must also explain the student’s need for support and encouragement to complete their qualification.
