    • Practical skills assessments: demonstrations under observation such as basic life support, first aid incident response and report and manage illness and injuries

    Work placement provides you with opportunities to respond to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment. Work placement strengthens your training and supports continued learning and assessment in the workplace.

    • To be enrolled in this course offering, you need to be able to provide evidence that you have:

      • Ability to perform at least 2 minutes of uninterrupted single rescuer CPR (5 cycles) on an adult manikin placed on the floor, be able to assess the area for danger, and visually and verbally assess the casualty and be able to assess the environment following DRSABCD in line with ARC guidelines.

    Course delivery

    Combination study

    Learn through a combination of on-campus classroom, virtual classroom, online, and/or workplace activity. For example, you may participate in scheduled face-to-face or virtual classroom activity, have an element of self-directed learning with online content, and/or receive supervised training while on the job, doing work experience, or on placement.

    Classroom activity will be scheduled, but online learning can provide more flexibility. Teacher support will be provided for all study. Access to a computer with an internet connection is required.
