This course is currently scheduled on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 9.30am to 2.30pm. Wednesday classes are learner support, students can choose to attend part or full day.
Assessments give you the opportunity to demonstrate what you have learnt and to identify the knowledge or skills that may need further development.
Knowledge assessments: short answer, multiple choice questions, research tasks, group assignments
Simulated workplace projects: scenarios-based problem solving

Work placement provides you with opportunities to respond to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment. Work placement strengthens your training and supports continued learning and assessment in the workplace.

There is an 80 hour work placement for this course and an individualised program will be designed to accommodate student and industry needs.
Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work (Consumer Peer Work) qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 15 Units of competency, including 8 core and 7 speciality units.
Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.
Learn in person, on a TAFE NSW campus. Depending on your course, your classroom could include purpose-built spaces like art studios, mechanical workshops, laboratories or bakeries. When you study on campus, you will receive a timetable of when you need to be on campus to attend.
