    To complete this course, the following materials are required:

    • You will need to provide for yourself the following resources which you will keep when you complete your study:

    • There is essential equipment required for the qualification. Information will be available at the information session and first day of class and will cost approximately $850 from a supplier of your choice. The essential equipment becomes the physical property of the student and will be retained by the student on completion of training.

    • To be enrolled in this course, you need to be able to provide evidence that you are:

      • over 21 years old, living in NSW or living in Australia intending to work in NSW, they must be able to provide evidence demonstrating skills, training, practical experience and employment assosiated with the hairdressing industry
    • To successfully complete this course, you will need:

      • to complete 26 units of competency, and have agreement from the employer that the apprentice is competent in the vocation to the required industry standard
      • to complete this course you must be able to provide evidence of employment within the barbering industry. This could consist of a signed letter from the employer (please note letter must be on letter head with company details and abn)

    Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Barbering qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 26 units of competency, including 21 core and 5 speciality units.

    Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.

    Course deliveryCombination study

    Learn through a combination of classroom based, on campus classroom, virtual classroom, online and/or workplace activity. For example, you may participate in scheduled face-to-face or virtual classroom activities, have an element of self-directed learning with online content, and/or receive supervised training while on the job, doing work experience, or on placement.

    Classroom activity will be scheduled, but online learning can provide more flexibility. Teacher support will be provided for all study. Access to a computer with an internet connection is required.
