Apply now for a Carol Duval Memorial Award

The Carol Duval Memorial Award is generously provided by the Duval family, in memory of Carol Duval, a former fine arts teacher at TAFE NSW Hunter Street.

The award provides support and encouragement to an outstanding student who is currently enrolled in the Diploma of Visual Arts (CUA51120), or Bachelor of Creative Practice (HE20634).

In 2026 the Hunter TAFE Foundation will award one student $1,000 to launch their career in the fine arts. As part of the application, students will submit an artwork to be judged and exhibited at TAFE NSW Hunter Street gallery, with the successful recipient being announced at the exhibition opening night on 1 September 2026.

Applications for the Carol Duval Memorial Award close 12 pm (AEST), Friday 28 August 2026.

To apply for the Carol Duval Memorial Award, you must:

• be enrolled in a Diploma of Visual Arts (CUA51120), or the Bachelor of Creative Practice (HE20634) at TAFE NSW
• reside or study within the Hunter or Central Coast regions
• demonstrate commitment to your study and career goals by displaying high-level artistic merit, listing achievements or identifying your skills and strengths.
• not have received a scholarship from the Hunter TAFE Foundation for 12 months prior to the closing date.
