    Entry requirements

    This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol.

    You must demonstrate that you have achieved one of the following:

    • A NSW HSC (Higher School Certificate) or equivalent; or

    • Completion of a Recognised Tertiary Preparation Certificate; or

    • A qualification from a Registered Training Organisation at Certificate IV level or above, or

    • Successful completion of at least one year full-time (or equivalent) study in a course at a higher education institution.

    Additional admission requirements:

    • Attend a consultation (in person or online) with our academic team to discuss your creative background and study goals. This informal discussion is designed to help you find the right pathway for success in the course.

    • Submit three (3) examples of your original creative work. For example: visual artworks (for the Visual Arts specialisation), or music you have produced or performed (for the Music Production and Performance specialisation)

    • You will be advised during the application process on how to submit your creative work.

    These course-specific requirements provide you with the opportunity to:

    • Share and discuss your creative work, influences and aspirations with academic staff

    • Learn more about the knowledge and skills needed for success in this course

    • Discuss study pathway options or enabling courses if needed

    • Access information about the wide range of TAFE NSW student support services, including academic and career support, disability services, Aboriginal student support, and health and wellbeing counselling.

    Advanced standing:

    • Students who have completed an Australian nationally recognised diploma in a related creative field will be eligible for up to one year of credit for the first year of the degree. Where granted, students will be able to complete the bachelor’s degree in a minimum of two years (full time).

    • Students who have completed an Australian nationally recognised advanced diploma in related creative field will be eligible for up to 18 months credit. Where granted, students will be able to complete the bachelor’s degree in a minimum of one and a half years (full time).

    • Students who are granted advanced standing based on their completion of a relevant diploma or advanced diploma will not be required to pay the full course tuition fee advertised below, and will only be required to pay for the subjects they enrol in.

    • Students can work with the Course Coordinator to plan their own study pathway. As a result, the length of the course may be different for each student.

    Note:

    • Your certificates, transcripts and other entry requirement evidence must be certified through a Justice of the Peace or other authorising officer.
