    Assessments

    Assessments give you the opportunity to demonstrate what you have learnt and to identify the knowledge or skills that may need further development.

    • Practical skills assessments: demonstrations under observation

    • Portfolio of work

    Work placement

    Work placement provides you with opportunities to respond to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment. Work placement strengthens your training and supports continued learning and assessment in the workplace.

    • There is no work placement requirement for this qualification. As an apprentice, you will gain your experience on-the-job with your employer.

    • If you are enrolling as a non-apprentice, you need to be in relevant employment or have access to appropriate simulated workplace environments in order to meet the course completion requirements.

    Units taught in this course

    Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Automotive Refinishing Technology qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 30 Units of competency, including 18 core and 12 speciality units.

    Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.

    Course delivery

    Studying on Campus

    Learn in person, on a TAFE NSW campus. Depending on your course, your classroom could include purpose-built spaces like art studios, mechanical workshops, laboratories or bakeries. When you study on campus, you will receive a timetable of when you need to be on campus to attend.
