    • To take this course as an apprenticeship you need to be employed as an apprentice in the industry as evidenced by a letter of support from your employer and

    To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

    • Physical strength to manage demands of the work

    • Experience in handling tools and equipment

    • Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) at a Year 10 high school level

    • The ability to work independently and as part of a team

    • Good hand-eye coordination

    Completion requirements

    During your study, you'll need to meet specific requirements to complete your coursework. Your teacher will let you know when you need to provide evidence of:

    • A general construction induction card (commonly known as a white card) - you will need this before you can enter a construction site

    • A Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills test and achieve a score of 3 across learning and oral communication, 2 across reading and writing, 1 in digital literacy and 3 across one band of numeracy. This skills test helps us to understand your individual study needs and to provide you with the appropriate support for your study success.
