Assessments

Knowledge assessments: multiple choice, true or false and short answer questions

Units
Units taught in this course
Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Community Services qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 12 units of competency, including 5 core and 7 speciality units.

Course delivery
Studying on Campus
Learn in person, on a TAFE NSW campus. Depending on your course, your classroom could include purpose-built spaces like art studios, mechanical workshops, laboratories or bakeries. When you study on campus, you will receive a timetable of when you need to be on campus to attend.

If you enrol in a Bankstown course starting in 2026, you’ll be among the first to train at our new location – TAFE NSW Bankstown City, 74 Rickard Road. TAFE NSW Bankstown at 500 Chapel Road will close on 24 December 2025.
