Assessments give you the opportunity to demonstrate what you have learnt and to identify the knowledge or skills that may need further development.
Knowledge assessments: multiple choice, true or false and short answer questions
Skills assessments: role-play scenarios, presentations and demonstrations under observation (including assessments in the workplace)
Case studies: case-study scenarios and reflection
Portfolio: samples of work in a workplace environment
Projects: reports, research-based projects, journals and essays
Work placement provides you with opportunities to respond to situations and circumstances that cannot be replicated in a learning or simulated environment. Work placement strengthens your training and supports continued learning and assessment in the workplace.

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Community Services qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 12 units of competency, including 5 core and 7 speciality units.
