    Work placement gives you real experience and develops your skills.

    • To be enrolled in this course offering, you need to be able to meet the following work placement requirements:

      • 40 hours of work placement will need to be undertaken in a pharmacy industry workplace that meets Pharmacy Board of Australia, industry standards for dispensary operations and include a pharmacist to interact with while undertaking your placement.

      • Learners will be required to demonstrate skills in pharmacy work environment or a simulated pharmacy environment. Learners will need access to a computer, internet, webcam, headset, and a recording device (mobile phone).

    Units taught in this course

    Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate III in Community Pharmacy qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 19 units of competency , including 11 core and 8 speciality units.

    Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.

    Course delivery

    Virtual classroom (on campus)

    Learn virtually by attending a TAFE NSW campus or Connected Learning Centre. Like learning on campus, you will receive a timetable of when to attend virtually. You'll use video or web conferencing technology to connect to your virtual classroom with your teacher and other students.

    Depending on your course, you may also complete some of your training online, or through our network of Mobile Training Units, which give you access to practical training and simulated environments.
