Overview About this course

The Graduate Certificate in Financial Planning (Professional Practice) allows you to complete three Financial Adviser Standards (FAS) accredited bridging courses that address ethics and professional standards for financial planners; commercial and corporations law for financial planners; and behavioural finance for financial planners. Together with the subject ‘Applied Financial Advice’ you will be eligible to receive the award of Graduate Certificate in Financial Planning (Professional Practice) after one semester of study.

Through a mixture of theory and practical course work, learn to:

  • Government approved degree (formerly FASEA approved course). Also accredited by the Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency (TEQSA)

  • For existing financial planners/advisers or those attaining the Professional Year (PY), a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) certificate will be provided upon successful completion of this subject. Please check with your licensee on the CPD policy requirements

Entry requirements

This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol

You must demonstrate that you have achieved the following:

  • That you are currently practicing as a financial planner or adviser and hold a degree or higher qualification in a finance related field (that is not a Financial Adviser Standards and Ethics Authority [FASEA] approved course)

Note:

  • Your certificates, transcripts and other entry requirement evidence must be certified through a Justice of the Peace or other authorising officer

  • This is not a FASEA approved course

Entry recommendations

To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

  • Checked the requirements set by the Australian Government Treasury’s Financial Adviser Standards

  • Good communication skills

  • An interest in helping others

  • Curiosity and attention to detail

You do not require an ATAR score for entry into this course.
