A nationally accredited qualification at Certificate IV level
A pathway to further study in live production
The skills to operate lighting and sound at a live event to industry standards
The experience to work in a live production environment with other industry professionals
The ability to manage self-care strategies
An understanding of industry work, health and safety practices and standards
This course requires evidence of previous experience or study before you can enrol
The ability to respond effectively to workplace requirements and apply a basic knowledge of trends and traditions in at least one area of technical production as evidenced by a letter from your employer, resume, transcript, production records or references

To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:
Enclosed shoes and ear protection
An interest in live production and previous study or work experience in the industry
Basic computer skills and access to a computer with internet and Microsoft Office 365
The ability to manage self-paced study
Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) at a Year 10 high school level
TAFE NSW may ask you to complete a Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills test. This helps us to understand your individual study needs, to design an individualised plan that supports your study success and ensures your LLN skills match the demands of the course.

The Certificate IV in Live Production and Technical Services does not have any pre-requisite courses.

Courses are made up of a combination of both core and specialty units. In the Certificate IV in Live Production and Technical Services qualification, you’ll need to successfully complete 16 units of competency, including 4 core and 12 speciality units.
Please note, not all specialty units are offered at every TAFE NSW location. It is highly recommended that you check with your preferred campus for information about the specialty units offered at that location.
Core units are central to the job outcomes of a particular industry or occupation. These are the units industry has agreed are essential to be capable and qualified at a particular study level.
