Entry recommendations

To be prepared for this course, we recommend that you have:

  • Reached at least 17 years of age so you are able to work in the industry serving alcohol at the completion of your course after you turn 18

  • The ability to stand on your feet for long periods of time

  • A willingness to do shift work

  • Good judgement skills

Licensing

Liquor & Gaming NSW regulates the liquor industry in NSW. They have approved TAFE NSW to deliver this training. At the completion of your course, present your interim RSA certificate to Service NSW to get your competency card. This permits you to work in the industry serving, selling or supplying alcohol. Recognition of NSW RSA and RCG competency in other jurisdictions: Responsible service of alcohol legislative and knowledge requirements differ across borders. Check with the relevant state authority to see if your NSW RSA and RCG competency is recognised.
