TAFE NSW Children’s Centres are committed to creating and maintaining a child-safe environment. Children’s safety and wellbeing are central to our culture.
We have zero tolerance for child abuse. We’re committed to building a child-safe community where children are protected from harm.
Our Centres recognise, respect and promote children’s rights. We make sure children feel safe and empowered to speak up. We take all concerns about children’s safety and wellbeing seriously.
TAFE NSW Children’s Centres follow the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child and the Child Safe Standards.
We value and support diversity, inclusion and equality. In recognition of the needs of all children, we:
ensure the cultural safety of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children
include children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds
empower children living with disability
support children who identify with the LGBTQI+ community.
We encourage the community to report concerns or suspicions of child abuse in our workplaces. We’re committed to responding to and reporting suspected child abuse.
Our Child Safe Statement of Commitment applies to all staff, volunteers, work experience students, contractors and contract employees.
All TAFE NSW Children’s Centres are licensed under the Australian Children’s Education and Care Quality Authority regulations.
Each centre undergoes the full licensing process and is issued with an individual licence.
