The Bachelor of Fashion Design is a three-year professional degree which will prepare graduates for work in the fashion industry in various contexts across national and international markets. Whilst focusing on the skills required for working professionally as a fashion designer, the degree will also provide graduates with the skills required for a number of related fashion industry work roles including fashion manager, design manager, fashion merchandiser, fashion buyer and fashion stylist.
The Bachelor of Fashion Design will be delivered at the Fashion Design Studio (FDS) at Ultimo in Sydney. The course has been developed in close consultation with industry including input from successful Australian designers who previously studied at TAFE NSW.

COURSE STRUCTURE AND UNITS
To receive the Bachelor of Fashion Design students must complete all core units and, if available, a range of additional units.
Note: Additional units contain compulsory and elective units which may vary between each semester and campus, and will depend on a number of considerations including the packaging rules for the qualification and demand for the unit.CORE UNITS ADDITIONAL UNITS
Course fees and duration can vary based on the Institute you want to study at, the entry requirements for the course, and the year you will begin study.
Additional costs for uniforms, equipment, textbooks and materials (if applicable) range from A$300 - $1,000 per course.
On graduating from the program you will possess the knowledge and skills necessary for working in various fashion and design related roles in the fashion industry. Our graduates are presently employed in positions that include Design Director, Design Assistant, Product Developer, Fashion Stylist, Fashion Buyer, Fashion Production Manager, Creative Director, Merchandising Manager and Fashion Events Manager.
TAFE NSW allows for two or more courses to be packaged together leading to a TAFE NSW Bachelor Degree, either to meet the prerequisite requirements for a course or to plan your studies around your career goals. You can submit a single TAFE NSW application form and will be able to apply for one Student Visa for the full duration of the package.
