This qualification provides a trade outcome and is for people who want to work in the painting and decorating industry for commercial and residential work. You will learn about the processes, materials, tools and equipment used and develop specialised skills associated with the surface coating industry.
Completion of the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (ASCC 2007) is required before entering a construction work site. Achievement of unit CPCCOHS1001A covers this requirement.
Work Placement Requirements:
Students will be required to complete 400 hours of work placement during the course within the industry. Students will be required to complete a logbook for record of the work placement so they can practice their skills and embed the knowledge they have learned during the course.
It is recommended that students seek out industry related work to assist them to complete this work placement requirement to successful complete this course.

COURSE STRUCTURE AND UNITS
To receive the Certificate III in Painting and Decorating students must complete all core units and, if available, a range of additional units.
