Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling

This qualification provides a trade outcome and is for people who want to work in the wall and floor tiling trade in residential and commercial work. You will learn how to lay tiles on a variety of internal and external surfaces which may be horizontal, vertical, curved, sloping and twisted. You will receive training in the tools required for this work also learn about waterproofing wet areas, tile types, tile accessories, tile glues, tiling patterns and cement mortars.

Additional cost for protective clothing is approximately A$350.

Completion of the general induction training program specified by the National Code of Practice for Induction Training for Construction Work (ASCC 2007) is required before entering a construction work site. Achievement of unit CPCCOHS1001A covers this requirement.

Work Placement Requirements:

Students will be required to complete 400 hours of work placement during the course within the industry. Students will be required to complete a logbook for record of the work placement so they can practice their skills and embed the knowledge they have learned during the course.

It is recommended that students seek out industry related work to assist them to complete this work placement requirement to successful complete this course.

To receive the Certificate III in Wall and Floor Tiling students must complete all core units and, if available, a range of additional units.

Note: Additional units contain compulsory and elective units which may vary between each semester and campus, and will depend on a number of considerations including the packaging rules for the qualification and demand for the unit.

Additional costs for uniforms, equipment, textbooks and materials (if applicable) range from A$300 - $1,000 per course.
