OVERVIEW

This qualification provides the skills and knowledge for an individual to plan, design, manage and monitor an enterprise information and communications technology (ICT) network as an independent ICT specialist or as part of a team responsible for advanced ICT network security systems. The qualification has a high-level ICT technical base with appropriate security units and the ability to specialise in a number of areas, including voice, wireless, network infrastructure and sustainability.

    To receive this course students must complete all core units and, if available, a range of additional units.

    STUDY PATHWAYS

    When you finish this course, you can apply to study the TAFE NSW Bachelor of Information Technology (Network Security) 20524 at Meadowbank College. This is a three-year professional degree offered by TAFE NSW Higher Education that prepares you for employment as a network security specialist in this fast growing and dynamic industry. The course includes presentations and case studies by leading professional experts, so that students develop tools and techniques for solving security issues and challenges facing the business world today.

    If you have successfully completed the Advanced Diploma of Information Technology (Network Security), you may be eligible to receive up to 12 units of credit towards the Bachelor of Information Technology (Network Security) 20524. The Recognition of Prior Learning process involves matching subjects you have successfully completed in your Advanced Diploma against degree subjects, other studies and proven work experience may also be taken into consideration.

    STUDY PACKAGES

    Plan your study around your life with a TAFE NSW study package. Our study packages allow for multiple courses to be packaged together that can lead you to a TAFE NSW or an Australian University Bachelor Degree with credits. This gives you a one stop shop by completing your applications for the whole package through TAFE NSW allowing you to apply for one student Visa for the full duration of the package.

    TAFE NSW allows for two or more courses to be packaged together, either to meet the prerequisite requirements for a course or to plan your studies around your career goals. You can submit a single TAFE NSW application form and will be able to apply for one Student Visa for the full duration of the package.
