This qualification provides core competencies in a broad range of analogue and digital electronic circuits including DC and AC circuit theory, power supplies, amplifiers, oscillators, digital circuits, microprocessors and electronic communications systems. Elective competency units provide specialisations in the areas of audio/visual equipment, wireless communications, embedded microcontrollers, electronic security systems, computer hardware, networking, data communications, and computer programming.

To receive the Certificate IV in Electronics and Communications students must complete all core units and, if available, a range of additional units.
